Mice are silly creatures. They live life as scavengers, constantly searching our homes and yards for things - useful things, shiny things, things that catch their eye. If you ever find a mouse nest, take note of the assortment of items in it: old socks, buttons off your winter coat, shredded newspaper...
One species of rat collects so ridiculously, it has earned the nickname of packrat. This little hoarder nabs everything it can lay it's greedy paws on, bringing it back to it's nest and tucking it away before going out to find another perfectly useless item.
Although we are considered much more intelligent than mice, we humans can be much the same way. We live our lives for things we think will make us happy, spending time coveting, searching, collecting, accumulating, storing, repairing, and cleaning our things. Our things cost us time, money, space, peace...
This blog is about fighting the packrat syndrome within us and focusing on a deeper, more fulfilling happiness found in relationship. Put the people you love above the things you own, and your life will become meaningful.
